Yes. A mandatory Madeira regional tax applies to car rental contracts in Madeira. The amount is €2 per full rental day, up to a maximum of 10 days per contract. This is not a RotaMadeira fee or an optional extra, but a mandatory regional tax imposed by the Madeira Regional Government.

Fuel is not included in the rental price. RotaMadeira uses a full-to-full fuel policy: the car is delivered with a full tank and should be returned with a full tank.

All our vehicles must be filled with petrol/gasoline. As a simple tip, in Madeira and Portugal petrol is usually available from the green pump, marked 95 or 98. Please do not use diesel.

Costs or damage caused by using the wrong fuel are not covered by the insurance. If you are unsure, please contact us before refuelling.
